TONLEY ABERDEEN ANGUS

Tonley Aberdeen Angus
The Tonley Herd is based at Mains Of Tonley in the Vale Of Alford, Aberdenshire, an area where 150 years ago it was home to many Aberdeen Angus Herds including the Famous Tillyfour Herd of Aberdeen Angus owned by William McCombie the great improver.

The Tonley Herd was founded in 1993 with the purchase of females from the Warren, Blelack, Netherton and Strathburn Herds and a few others. The top breeding bull TLA Nothern Samurai and his son Mushroom Friar Fergus were used extensively on herd. So to stamp the influence of these bulls, Two home bred bulls Tonley Powerline a Friar Fergus son and Tonley Emperor a Galcantray Preditor son were used in a line breeding program. The herd is now mostly composed of females from these four bulls.
